Moses Gate Country Park is also known as Crompton Lodges and is a 750 acre site situated in the Croal and Irwell Valleys. It forms part of the Kingfisher Way that runs from Jumbles Reservoir to Clifton Country Park. Cromptons Paper Mill was one of the earliest paper mills in Lancashire. Nob End is also located in the park and is a site of special scientific interest (SSCI) due to its alkaline soil ( as a result of a bleach works that was once on the site) resulting in many plants flourishing there such as many species of orchids. There are 3 'lodges' (lakes on the site).
