WALX with Paula is a friendly walking group based in Esher. Our mixed ability group provides a safe, fun and happy environment to enjoy the beautiful green spaces in and around Surrey on professionally guided WALX, with poles and without.We will help you take what you need from each WALX. From freeing your mind after a busy week, to starting your day with mindfulness or a blood pumping session, to helping you reach your personal health and fitness goals whilst making new friends and discovering parts of your local community you didnt know existed!Relax, breathe and just be. For as little as an hour at a time, let us guide you whilst you chat and laugh with the person youre walking next to. Stop and take a photo if you wish, its a great reason for the rest of the group to pause and look around while they have a drink. Or pump those legs and mop your brow whilst you go through the paces, grunting to yourself or with the person next to you as you challenge yourself. The choice is yours.We offer a programme of Nordic WALX, Adventure, Wellness and Total Body workout WALX in groups, seven days a week, together with sociable scenic Explorer WALX which involves a cup of tea and a cheeky piece of cake or a brunch. There are opportunities for one to one WALX tailor made to look after your well-being.By using poles youll use both your lower and upper bodies which in turn will increase calorie burn by 40% or 75% if you use BungyPump poles. Your heart and circulatory health will improve, your muscles will better support your spine, youll firm up the dreaded bat wings, youre are able to walk for longer without even realising it and those hills are so much easier to climb!All the while your body will become fitter, stronger and more flexible plus youll be happier positively impacting your family, friends and work. You might just inspire someone to become more active too. I call it, health by stealth!WALX with Paula is expanding and is recruiting a team of Coaches and Guides to deliver an even more diverse WALX and social programme for you. Over the course of the next few months our WALX programme will expand to include Drop In WALX, Tai Chi, Yoga, Smoveys and ProXwalkers to name but a few. Shortly new Power of the Pole (POP) courses will become available showcasing new poles. Exciting times ahead for us all!Paula Elliott, Founder & WALX MasterPaula is the founder of WALX with Paula & is a WALX Master. Paula qualified as a Nordic Walking Instructor in September 2011 after she fell in love with Nordic Walking on her very first walk and took a friend to her second. Within a matter of weeks she knew that she wanted to be an Instructor. As Paula had never been in the fitness industry she had to get the books out, get studying and write exams for the first time since leaving school! She hasnt stopped then!.Paula wants to help others become healthier and happier. She has had weight and body image issues herself for many a year as well as having crunchy knees and a degenerative disc in her lumbar spine. Nordic Walking and meditation have really helped turn that on its head. The best thing is that it doesnt feel like exercise and time flies, yes, even when doing workout WALX!
