Cheshire Nordic Walking
I can help you to get whatever you want out of Nordic Walking even if you are worried about your age, medical problems, risk of heart attack or aching joints. I am a retired Cardiologist and ex rugby player/triathlete; I have medical problems of my own leading to my early retirement. I have been helped enormously by Nordic Walking and am now trained to offer you these benefits as well. By tailoring the exercise to you individually, we can:
-
Reduce back and joint pains when walking
-
Improve your fitness
-
Improve balance and reduce risk of falls
-
Help you to lose weight
-
Improve your Cholesterol and Blood Pressure
-
Get outside and enjoy fresh air and exercise
-
Improve posture and flexibility
-
Elevate your mood
-
Regain independence
-
Or if you are younger and fitter, you can have a workout as hard as any cross country skiing elite athlete, for whom Nordic Walking was originally divised!
All this with a group of like-minded friendly individuals and we usually finish with a coffee and more conversation!
I used to be very fit over the years as a rugby player and triathlete, but progressive neurological problems led to my retirement from work and exercise was limited to walking with a stick or Zimmer frame. In 2012 I improved enormously with new medication, and consolidated this with Nordic Walking such that in 2014 I became an instructor and was able to walk up Mt Snowdon!
In classes with my wife, Kerley, a retired nurse, who has been an instructor since 2010, we have seen many people get fitter and improve mobility. With our medical and nursing background, we can safely encourage exercise with a balance of caution when needed.
Come and achieve some of the benefits of Nordic Walking for yourself!
