My love of walking and the outdoors brought me to move to this beautiful area (The Forest of Bowland) in 2019.
Having spent 31 years teaching PE in secondary schools I am now enjoying taking time to focus on my own hobbies (walking, yoga, cycling, gardening, sewing, photography ) and explore all that this stunning area has to offer.
I began Nordic Walking in 2018 and immediately loved the way using Nordic Walking poles improved my posture as I walked. I could really feel how it engaged so many muscles in my upper body and enabled me to walk faster and more easily with less effort. I was hooked and would now love to share this experience with you.
Nordic walking can be practiced by all and benefit everyone, whatever your fitness level happens to be. Some of my walks focus more on well-being and are a gentle way to walk yourself towards an improved level of fitness. Other walks are a faster pace with more hills. Simply choose the one that’s right for you!
I walk daily and always feel the benefits of being outside walking in nature. It improves my emotional, mental and physical health. I’ve noticed that my concentration is more focused, I feel more energised, as well as it reducing any feelings of stress and having a calming effect. All this from the simple action of walking!
