We’ll kick start our senses (and our body) with a warm up in the car park before getting into our stride along the Tarka Trail.

We will begin our long gentle walk up a slight incline where the going is firm at a leisurely pace (while for the more active members of the group there is ample opportunity to move through the gears to maximise this exercise walk).

Once we reach the summit it’s a short downhill stretch to East Yarde Cafe.

Along the way there are plenty of opportunities to observe the wildlife and take in the sounds of the forest.

Once suitably revived we will retrace our steps starting with a brief walk to the summit before taking full advantage of the long sweeping downhill stretch to the start point.

On reaching Watergate bridge we will step off the trail into a secluded spot where a quiet slow moving stream winds its way around an ideal picnic site.

Here we will enjoy a cool down in the shade of the trees while unwinding to the sounds of the birds and soothing water.
